Is Feng Shui a religion?
No, whilst some schools promote a religious 'feel' to what they are doing, Shen Dao style has no religious agenda as it is part of the Shen Dao Navigator approach to life. Shen Dao does indeed have a philosophy of life, although this is for our consultants and not our clients.

Does it actually work?
Many tens of thousands of people worldwide attest that it does. Feng Shui doesn't require you to have a prior belief, it simple requires you to carry out the actions recommended by your practitioner.

Can it have a negative result?
Of course. Any system that can help you can also harm you. That is why it is important to verify the capabilities of your practitioner. In recent years there has been an explosion in people practising feng shui having learned it from a book, so, buyer beware.

What is is based upon?
The oriental world has an understanding that there is a primal energy that pervades the universe. It is known by a variety of names depending upon where you are such as Qi or Chi, Prana, Ki and Ether. None of these indicate or allude to being 'God' and are more akin to magnetism than anything else. Qi is said to divide into Yin (passive) and Yang (active) and from there form the five elements and their dual natures (the ten stems). Whilst western science ridicules such models it is interesting that there is a close correlation between the aspects of Qi and quantum physics.

Does it work for everyone?
Theoretically 'yes', in practise 'no'. Feng Shui is intimately reliant upon the application of its rules by the client. Some people resist change and therefore resist the application of change. For these it will not work.

What would I have to change?
You are required to change that which no longer works 'for' you or actively works against you. It could be the colour in a room, the layout or style, or even your attitude to a situation. Change is specific to the client and depending on what they want and how far away that goal currently is governs the commitment required.
