Shen Dao style Feng Shui

Shen Dao Feng ShuiShen Dao (the way of the spirit/spirit path) is the vehicle for the Feng Shui teachings formulated and developed by Harrison Kyng, a third generation Bon shaman. It began life in the late seventies as 'Mind's Eye' and evolving in the early eighties into Dreamweaver Feng Shui. Although the name changed, the tenets of the system did not.

Shen Dao style is both 'Form' and 'Compass' as taught to Kyng by his master Kim Ho. The evolution of the system came about though Kyng's own background of Celtic, Native American and Bon experience, which led to the powerful implementation of the Shen Dao Compass, and it's uniquely successful application of energy patterns within buildings.

The birth of the Shen Dao style led to the first structured professional training programs within Europe, training architects, builders, interior designers and their like. As the courses grew the collective skills gathered in by Shen Dao similarly increased; this system found favour with acupuncturists, dowsers, those working with sick building syndrome and corporate business.

Under guidance from Harrison Kyng Shen Dao retained a policy of not advertising for business, which led to a strong portfolio of referred business that served to strengthen the 'brand'. All of Shen Dao's tutors are taught personally by Kyng so that the system can retain as much of it's identity as is possible; similarly he takes pride in those training within his system to the point where he oversees their exam papers to ensure a high standard. This also ensured the privacy of our clients who saw no value in advertising their interests to the public.

The mid-nineties saw the first change in Shen Dao policy when it agreed to the creation of the Shen Dao Institute as an independent regulatory body for Shen Dao consultants. This was headed by Simon Southall (now head of the Feng Shui Society) on a voluntary basis and his dedication to the cause led to his current appointment. The Institute no longer exists, and it's demise certainly led to consultants modifying Shen Dao style to their own styles. In all this however, there were those consultants who truly understood the power and virtue of the pure style of Shen Dao and have continued to implement it's ideals in this present time. It is true to say that Shen Dao has been often imitated, but never surpassed.

Following a meeting with Jane Butler-Biggs in London prior to, and concerning the, formation of the Feng Sui Society; Harrison Kyng decided that Shen Dao would not be a contibuting force to the newly formed group on the basis that we preferred to monitor our consultants efficacy ourselves. Our concern was, and still remains, that there could be a degeneration of the primary schools of Feng Shui in existence at that time through the teaching of Feng Shui as a minimalised system.

Of the two main types of Feng Shui (Black Hat Sect & Shen Dao), it was generally regarded as the harder to master; not because of any methodology but because of ideology. Shen Dao style expected much from it's students as it was, and is, rooted in Kyng's shamanic experiences. This meant that his students were expected to undertake their own shamanic journeys of exploration in order to comprehend the root of his system - the manipulation of reality. Sadly, this proved to be too high a price to pay for many consultants, who chose to apply only the mechanical aspects of the system.

Nevertheless, Kyng remained convinced that finding his 'one that can,out of thirty that cannot', was a perfectly noble sacrifice; and today there are possibly a handful of people out of the thousands he has personally taught who actually understand and follow the true spirit of the path. For those people, Shen Dao style became a way of life and not just a way of earning a living.

Shen Dao style continues to be a motivating force in the Feng Shui world, and our consultants continue to work worldwide bringing harmony at home and at work; and through our long association with companies such as Geomack ? we continue to offer an exemplary service.
